A Scholar and Athlete
My first lessons in leadership came from my experiences as a scholar athlete. At Punahou School, I was a captain of the track team, and lettered in basketball and football. We lived the motto of teamwork. – Together Everyone Achieves More. As your representative, I promise to collaborate with the community, so everyone can succeed.
At Occidental College in Los Angeles, I was an all-conference athlete on the football and track teams. In 2006 I played in the Hula Bowl, competing among the best players in college football and some future NFL stars. On the field, I learned to never shy away from a challenge – and as your representative, I will never shy away from tough challenges in our community.
A Coach and Educator
After graduating from college, I taught for the L.A. Unified School District and served as the Interim Head track coach at Occidental College. As an educator, I know what needs to be done to improve our education system.
I also taught European History at St. Louis School in Honolulu, where I was inspired by our students’ talent and potential. I am committed to making sure that every student has the resources they need to meet their full potential.
An Advocate and Attorney
After graduating from law school, I spent 6 years practicing law as an Associate Attorney. I am currently the managing attorney for the law firm, Gilson Daub Hawaiʻi. I am committed to advocating for our community. Throughout my legal career, I have seen how ordinary people need an advocate to help them stand up for themselves and their families. As your representative, I’ll always advocate for fairness, justice and equality.
In my spare time, I volunteer for Special Olympics Hawaiʻi, Legal Helplines, and community clean ups. I also serve on the Make-A-Wish Young Leaders Board. I would be honored to have your support so I can continue to serve our community.
